Borough Improvement Projects

{Trail}   {Trail2}

Linear Park Trail & Railroad Station Parking Lot

In 2007, approximately 4,800 linear feet of trail on the abandoned railway bed between East Fulton Street and Sycamore Road at Pointview Avenue had its official unveiling.

In 2008, the construction on the next section connecting the trail at Fulton Street to Main Street was completed. The macadam trail includes site lighting, benches, trash receptacles, landscaping and storm water improvements.

The trail project was partially funded through a Lancaster County Parks Initiative Grant and an Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act (ISTEA) Grant from the Federal Government.

Currently, a project that will provide improvements to the railroad station area which is a continuation of the trail at Main Street is in the preliminary planning stage. Several conceptual rough sketches showing potential layout configuations are currently being reviewed.
